CS Dominguez Hills Teams Go 1-1
The Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s and women’s soccer teams split season openers Saturday afternoon against visiting San Diego State by identical scores of 1-0.
The Lady Toros, ranked second among Division II teams, used an unassisted goal from sophomore Amy Rubin of Hawthorne to defeat the Division I Lady Aztecs. Dominguez Hills outshot San Diego, 20-3.
In the men’s game, the Aztecs, ranked 20th in Division I, used a goal by Andrew Morrone with 17 minutes remaining to beat the Toros, ranked seventh in the West in Division II. Morrone’s shot was the only shot on goal attempted in the second half.
