Share

The Raiders selected center Don Mosebar as captain of the offensive unit, linebacker Jerry Robinson as defensive captain and center Dan Turk as special teams captain.

Turk replaced Stefon Adams, last year’s special teams captain, who was signed by the Cleveland Browns after being waived by the Raiders.

Wide receiver Willie Gault was a member of a three-man team that set a track record Tuesday in the National Bobsled Push Championship at Lake Placid, N.Y.

Gault teamed with Olympic hurdler Edwin Moses and Bubba Womack to post a record time of 5.18 seconds on one run. They won the three-heat competition in 15.68 seconds.

Running back Herschel Walker of the Minnesota Vikings was originally on the team but dropped out because of an injury.

Gault, a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic bobsled team, said his goal is to win a Super Bowl ring and an Olympic gold medal.

Defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, the Seattle Seahawks’ No. 1 draft choice, will probably beplaying more Sunday against the Raiders.

The third player picked in the NFL draft, Kennedy was on the field for only 20 plays during last week’s 17-0 loss to the Bears in Chicago, after missing the exhibition season because of a holdout.
