VALLEY SPORTS ROUNDUP : Claremont Defeats Occidental in Soccer

Claremont’s Marial Davis scored all of her team’s goals Monday at Claremont to pace the home team to a 3-1 win over Occidental College in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer game.

Jos Bergmann, a senior striker for Occidental, scored the Tigers’ only goal in the first half. Occidental took 14 shots on goal to Claremont’s eight. Occidental goalie Janet Hubbel notched three saves for the Tigers.

The win evened Claremont’s conference record to 1-1. Occidental fell to 1-1.

Cal Lutheran 12, LaVerne 0--Vanessa Martin scored four goals and Rachel Wackerman added three to pace Cal Lutheran (2-1) to a non-conference win at LaVerne.
