A mother whose 1-year-old baby was kidnaped last month by a newly hired baby-sitter flew to Miami today to be reunited with her son, found safe by police, authorities said.

Marta Perez, 24, of Hollywood, had hired a baby-sitter she knew only as Rosa to care for her two children, 1-year-old Raul and a 5-year-old, while she and her husband, Miguel, were at work, detective Mike Fino said.

When Perez returned home two days after she hired the sitter, she discovered Raul and the sitter missing, police said.

Los Angeles police traced the baby-sitter to Florida. Miami police located Raul on Tuesday, Fino said. The boy appeared to be in good condition, he said.

Miami police arrested Rosa Posada, 34, a native of El Salvador, who was being held in Dade County Jail pending extradition to California on kidnaping charges, Fino said.

“It was a situation in which she (Posada) just became attached to the baby and wanted to raise it on her own,” Fino said.
