Drug Fugitive Suspect Arrested in Gardena
A fugitive sought for three months for his alleged role in a major Compton-based crack cocaine and PCP distribution ring has been captured in Gardena, a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman announced Saturday.
Craig Smith, 21, was arrested at gunpoint Thursday night, when he tried to run over a DEA agent with his car, spokesman Ralph Lochridge said. Four other men facing federal charges in the case were arrested in June when authorities raided a house in Orange and seized more that $1.5 million in suspected drug profits from beneath a patio.
