Praise for Owner of Restaurant

Share

In following the articles involving the person accused of murder in the action that took place at Pancho & Wong’s recently, it is unfortunate that this occurrence has so negatively impacted owner David Letchworth, who has struggled through the hard times following the damaging storms and pier fire.

David is one of the hardest-working, most conscientious, community-minded business owners I have ever known.

David’s efforts and accomplishment span a wide spectrum of activities in the community. He has been past president of the California Restaurant Assn., board member and vice president of the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce for years, and was selected as the chamber’s Man of the Year in 1987 for his exemplary community service.

Having founded and chaired such events as the Taste of South Bay, which supports several South Bay charities, as well as a strong supporter of Muscular Dystrophy Assn., David’s many other accolades are too numerous to mention, but well-known by many. In regard to management, in my observation David consistently manages and supervises his employees, constantly imploring them to provide the best in customer service.

I am writing this because in the articles I have read regarding David’s business, only negatives have been pointed out. I wanted to express that there is also a lot of positive in Mr. Letchworth’s behavior and management.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Michael Alvey, and they also go out to David Letchworth and his family.
