Sylmar 21, Monroe 6--Host Sylmar took advantage of five Monroe turnovers and running back Tobaise Brookins carried 30 times for 129 yards.

Brookins scored from three yards on the opening drive to give Sylmar (3-0) a lead it never relinquished.

Monroe (0-2-1) fumbled twice in the first quarter and Sylmar scored touchdowns after both of them. J. Girmar Johnson caught a 12-yard pass from Daniel Terry for Sylmar’s second score. Terry added a third touchdown when he scored from 30 yards on an option keeper in the third quarter.

Monroe’s only highlight was a 90-yard touchdown run by Kijano Foster, who broke two tackles at the line of scrimmage, cut through the middle and raced down the right sideline. Foster had 100 yards in just five carries.
