PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAMS : Opposites Attract With Steelers Across the Field

Share

Last week, the Rams were looking at nearly a mirror-image of themselves, statistically, when they played and beat the free-wheeling, all-offense, no-defense Atlanta Falcons.

This week, the Rams get the Pittsburgh Steelers, direct opposites of the Rams, according to the numbers.

The Steelers rank fourth overall in defense--12th against the run but first against the pass. The Rams rank fourth in passing offense.

The Steelers rank second to last in offense--20th in rushing and 25th in passing. The Ram defense is No. 25 overall in defense, and 26th against the pass.

After two days off, the Rams resume practice today. . . . Running back Marcus Dupree, who went on injured reserve Oct. 5 and is eligible to come off for the Houston Oiler game Nov. 5, has been joined here by his workout coach, Bob Hill. Hill was Walter Payton’s coach at Jackson State and supervised Dupree’s comeback from a major knee injury suffered five years ago.
