Share

Ramona Jessop had 18 kills and Jennifer Salanoa added 12 to lead Long Beach Jordan High past Burroughs in the second round of the Southern Section 4-A Division volleyball playoffs at Jordan, 9-15, 15-9, 15-8, 15-5.

Jordan (15-1) could not contain senior middle blocker Jennifer Wagner, however, who finished with 18 kills.

Eight of those kills came in the first game, which Burroughs dominated.

But Wagner was not enough to carry Burroughs (20-2).

Jordan trailed, 6-1, in the second game but rallied behind the serving of DeAnn Machlan, who went to the service line for eight consecutive points.
