A convicted child molester pleaded not guilty Friday to charges that he paid children to perform in lewd videotapes.

John Edward Teichrow, 42, faces trial Dec. 20 on five misdemeanor charges unrelated to his previous conviction. He is serving a six-year sentence in a state prison in Chino for molesting children in San Bernardino.

Teichrow was transported from the prison to appear in Los Angeles for Friday’s hearing.

The Los Angeles charges were filed Oct. 30 in connection with the alleged videotaping of a 9-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl at an unidentified preschool. Authorities are searching for about 100 other children featured in three dozen videotapes found during a search of Teichrow’s camper truck, police said.

He is charged with one count each of possession of child pornography, child molestation and loitering near a school, and two counts of committing immoral acts in the presence of a child.
