Peter Renner, a former New Zealand Olympic steeplechaser, pulled away from Brad Hudson of Eugene, Ore., with less than three miles left en route to winning the eighth annual California International Marathon at Sacramento in 2 hours 12 minutes and 35 seconds. Janis Klecker of Minnetonka, Minn., set a women’s course-record of 2:30:42.
