Cal Lutheran University has hired new coaches for its men’s and women’s tennis teams.
Rob Bittner, a 1990 graduate of Tulane where he was captain of the tennis team, will take over the men’s team. Bittner replaces Paul Steele.
Kellie Chase, a 1986 graduate of Arkansas, comes to Cal Lutheran from Stowe, Vt., where she was the assistant director of tennis for a resort.
Chase replaces Carla DuPuis, who remains as assistant director of athletics and women’s volleyball coach.
Former Canyon High standout Randy Austin will play for the Blue squad in the Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic, organizers of the Montgomery, Ala., game announced Tuesday.
A UCLA tight end acclaimed for his blocking skills, Austin caught seven passes for 118 yards this season. After playing linebacker as a freshman, Austin was shifted to offense as a sophomore.
Austin made 40 receptions during his collegiate career.
The Blue-Gray game will be played Christmas Day, and will be televised by ABC beginning at 9 a.m.
