Lincoln 85, Point Loma 50--The Hornets held Point Loma to 8 first-quarter points and 4 in the fourth to take third. Hosa Baker had 20 points to go with Berry Randle’s 19. Freshman Archie Robinson (16) had four three-pointers. Justin Miller scored 17 points for the Pointers.

Mission Bay 55, La Jolla 41--These teams got an early taste of what awaits them when City Western League play begins in 1991. Cameron Atwood paced Mission Bay with 20 points in the seventh-place game, with help from teammate John Price’s 14 points.

Serra 60, Hoover 43--With 14 points apiece, Bryant Tucker and Tony Etheridge led Serra in the fifth-place game.

Red Bluff Tournament

El Camino 64, Chico 43--Sean Scurry (21 points) and Jeff Reeves (17) combined to lead the Wildcats (3-1) to the semifinals, and played a late game against host Red Bluff Friday. Bryan Westbrook grabbed 12 rebounds for El Camino.

Metro Conference

Sweetwater 74, Southwest 58--Melvin Rushing scored 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, where Sweetwater outscored Southwest, 26-18. Teammates Pateros Whitson, (19 points, three three-pointers) and Mendel Naffarrete (17 points) also contributed for Sweetwater (8-1, 4-0). Jerry Racette led Southwest (4-5, 2-2) with 29 points.

Hilltop 44, Montgomery 38--Courtney Brown had a game-high 18 points for Hilltop (3-6, 1-3). Montgomery dropped to 2-5, 1-3.

Castle Park 88, Mar Vista 68--Eric Bell’s 19 points led visiting Castle Park (4-3, 3-1). Teammate Tommy Stevens scored 16 points and Benji Gil pulled down 17 rebounds.

Nonleague

Valhalla 78, Helix 72--Mark Dillon connected on nine three-pointers to score a game-high 40 points for Valhalla (8-1) in a nonleague game. Mike Nalu added five three-pointers and 23 points for Valhalla.

La Jolla Country Day 74, Anchorage Christian 60--Six players scored for LJCD, and four were in double figures, led by Jason Boyle’s 20 points and 13 rebounds. Larry Cheng had 16 points and 11 rebounds for LJCD (7-3).

Nonleague

Santana 63, El Capitan 29--A 23-point effort by Stephanie Thompson was just six less than what El Capitan scored. Teammate Erin Pope contributed 11 points for Santana (9-2).

Chart House/Lt. Mitchell Tournament

Torrey Pines 69, Carlsbad 43--Craig Brown scored a game-high 20 points to lead Torrey Pines, which outscored Carlsbad, 23-8, in the second quarter.

West Anchorage 64, Oceanside 51--West Anchorage jumped to a 17-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and was never headed. Carl Mathis hit three three-pointers and scored 14 points for Oceanside.

De La Salle 59, San Clemente 38--Eddie Morgan scored 11 for San Clemente in a losing effort.

Rancho Buena Vista 118, Vista 102--Brad Grubaugh scored a game-high 34 points to lead Rancho Buena Vista. Jason Barns scored 29 and Chris Johnson scored 27 for Vista.

Newport Harbor 52, Dana Hills 46--Huy Nyguen scored 16 points to lead Newport Harbor, which outsored Dana Hills, 10-2, in the third quarter. Justin McIntee had 13 points and 14 rebounds for Newport.
