In the San Diego Mesa men’s basketball tournament:

Grossmont 79, Orange Coast 74 (OT)--Orange Coast blew a five-point lead with 47 seconds left. Tim Barry scored a three-pointer for Grossmont, then Orange Coast turned the ball over, and Barry rebounded a teammates’ errant shot to score at the buzzer to tie the score at 70-70. Brian Spratt finished with 19 points, Rich Hughes 16, Agustin Heredia 11 and Michael Wenzlaff 10 for Orange Coast (7-7). Grossmont’s Rafid Kiti scored 25.

In the Santa Rosa men’s basketball tournament:

Cypress 92, Redwoods 58--Eric Pauley had 24 points and nine rebounds for Cypress (12-6) in a first-round game. Brian Kenney scored 13 for Cypress.

In the Palomar men’s basketball tournament:

Bakersfield 71, Fullerton 64--Fullerton (9-7) lost a 39-32 halftime lead. Gary Hunter scored 14 and Kenney Cross 13 for Fullerton.

In the Fullerton women’s tournament:

Fullerton 72, Centralia (Wash.) 64--Vicki Evans scored 17 points and Hollie Keeton 14 for Fullerton (12-2).

Santa Monica 55, Cypress 33--Illana Mazingo scored 25 points and had 13 rebounds for Santa Monica (7-3) in a first-round game. Chris Bazzel scored 12 for Cypress (1-15).

In the DeAnza women’s basketball tournament:

Orange Coast 66, American River 50--Erika Manning had 15 points and seven rebounds and Cynthia Kollar had 15 points and nine rebounds for Orange Coast (10-7) in a first-round game.
