In a West Coast Christian Athletic Conference game:

Pacific Christian 89, California Christian 77--Ken Crawford scored 31 points and Mike Vincent 20 for Pacific Christian in Fresno. Pacific Christian is 17-11, 7-1 in the conference. James Brown scored 27 points for California Christian (15-11, 4-2).

In a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s basketball game:

Cal State Los Angeles 68, Chapman 64--Cal State Los Angeles made four free throws in the last 10 seconds at Chapman.

Jackie Saunders’ driving layup for Chapman with 1:30 left tied the score, 64-64, but the Panthers scored no more, missing two free throws and three shots.

Los Angeles (9-9, 1-0 in the CCAA) had troubles of its own in the last minute, missing a three-point shot and the front end of a one-and-one before Deborah Whitlock made two free throws with 10 seconds left.

Chapman (8-9, 0-1) had a final chance to tie the score, but Tammie McQuain missed a short, uncontested shot with three seconds remaining.

Sabrina Yap made two free throws with two seconds left.

In a stretch in the first half, Los Angeles went on a 18-0 run to lead, 42-30, at the half.

Lori Thompson scored 15 points and Krystall Cade 14 for the Golden Eagles. Saunders had 27 points and 19 rebounds for the Panthers, who were playing without two players who were averaging 30 points between them. Linda Kirby and Marvette Williams are academically ineligible until at least Jan. 24.
