Casualty of War: For die-hard fans of the NBC soap opera “Generations,” the series will die hard on Friday. Because of war coverage, some episodes of the canceled soap were preempted last week and won’t be rescheduled, a network spokesman said. On Friday, the show was preempted on the East Coast, but with regular programming resumed at 1 p.m. and with time to fill, the network ran two episodes back to back for West Coast fans. Other NBC daily dramas--”Days of Our Lives,” “Another World” and “Santa Barbara”--if preempted one day, will slide over to the next day. “Generations” will be replaced Jan. 28 by “TrialWatch,” a legal-affairs program.
