The San Francisco 49ers extended Coach George Siefert’s contract two years and named Carmen Policy the team’s president.
Siefert, 51, was entering the final year of a three-year contract he signed after succeeding Bill Walsh in 1989.
Policy, who has served as the team’s executive vice president and general counsel the past two seasons, will be responsible for the club’s day-to-day operations.
