Colorado ended a streak of 56 Big Eight Conference road losses as Billy Law made seven of eight free throws in the final two minutes to help the Buffaloes defeat Iowa State, 84-78.

The Buffaloes (14-9 and 4-6) had not won at Hilton Coliseum since 1977. It was also the first time since 1973 that Colorado has swept the season series against the Cyclones.

Iowa State (9-17, 3-7) pulled to within eight points several times in the second half, but Colorado made 12 of 16 free throws late in the game to hold off the Cyclones.

Victor Alexander had five blocked shots to tie an Iowa State single-game record set by Sam Hill. He has 115 career blocks, which also broke Hill’s career record, and he needs one more block to tie Lafester Rhodes’ single-season record of 47 blocks.
