COLLEGE BASKETBALL WOMEN’S ROUNDUP : Long Beach Defeats San Jose, 73-53
Penny Moore had 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead No. 23 Cal State Long Beach to a 73-53 victory over San Jose State in a Big West Conference game Saturday at Long Beach.
It was the 49ers’ 12th consecutive victory and the Spartans’ 18th consecutive loss.
The game ends the regular season for both teams.
Long Beach (20-7, 15-3) and Nevada Las Vegas are tied for first place in the conference but the No. 15 Rebels, 102-76 winners over Pacific Saturday night, finished 24-5 overall.
Karen Smith led San Jose State (2-25, 0-18) with 19 points.
Cal State Fullerton 73, Fresno State 46--Genia Miller scored 24 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead the Titans (22-6, 14-4) to a Big West victory over the Bulldogs (16-12, 9-9) at Fullerton.
