COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Miller Leads Titan Women to School-Record 22nd Victory

Genia Miller scored 24 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, and three other players scored in double figures Saturday as the Cal State Fullerton women’s team defeated Fresno State, 73-46, in a Big West Conference game in Titan Gym.

Fullerton point guard Michelle Hennessey, who averages only 3.6 shots per game, made seven of 12 shots and scored 16 points--a career high. The Titans closed the regular season at 22-6 (14-4 in conference) and set a school record for victories.

The Titans surged to a 37-23 halftime lead and finished shooting 50% (29 for 58) from the field. They out-rebounded the Bulldogs, 44-26.

Fullerton, which finished third in conference behind co-champions Nevada Las Vegas and Long Beach, will play Fresno State again at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the Big West tournament.
