HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Hart Rallies in 7th to Win, 4-3

John Aguilar’s sacrifice fly capped a three-run rally in the seventh inning and gave Hart High a 4-3 win in a Foothill League baseball game Tuesday at Hart.

Hart (7-4, 3-2) entered the seventh inning trailing, 2-0. With one out, Tommy Wolff hit a two-run single to tie the score. Doug Distaso singled and Aguilar followed with a sacrifice fly that made a winner of R.J. Simone (5-0), who struck out 10.

Rio Mesa 11, Hueneme 6--Hueneme (6-4, 0-3) committed 10 errors in a Channel League game. Mike Mitchell homered and doubled for Rio Mesa (9-2, 3-0).

Buena 7, Oxnard 0--Nick Houchin allowed two hits through five innings and Steve Ledesma’s three-run double highlighted a seven-run third inning for Buena (4-4, 2-1) in a Channel League game. Paul Wood had three hits for Buena and Brian Lane was two for three for Oxnard (5-5, 1-2).

Montclair Prep 10, Crossroads 8--Brent Polacheck had three hits as Montclair Prep (7-3) won a nonleague game.

Poly 12, Canoga Park 6--Rodrigo Dorame was three for four with four runs batted in and Marlon McKinney drove in three runs for Poly (10-1, 7-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Canoga Park.

Sylmar 9, Van Nuys 4--Rene Navarro and Cain Camarillo went two for three and Dereck Ornelas hit a three-run home run to help the Spartans (8-3, 6-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Monroe 4, North Hollywood 2--Jorge Dorado threw a two-hitter and struck out eight to lead the Vikings (4-3, 4-3) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game. Monroe’s Bryan McComb went two for two and had three stolen bases.

Grant 4, Birmingham 3--Justin Howard was two for two with two RBIs for Grant (5-5, 4-2) in a Valley Pac-8 conference game. Mike Belasco hit a solo home run for Birmingham (4-7, 3-4) and Jason Mansfield struck out 10.

Alemany 6, St. Paul 4--Andy Dominique hit a two-run home run in the fifth that erased a 4-3 deficit for Alemany (4-9) in a St. Paul tournament game.

Oak Park 3, Moorpark 1--Jeff Gibbons (3-0) scattered three hits and also went two for three as Oak Park (6-2, 1-1) won a Tri-Valley League game at home.

San Fernando 10, Taft 0--Canto Franco pitched six innings and allowed two hits, striking out three and walking none for host San Fernando (7-5, 5-3) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

Cleveland 12, Reseda 0--Mike Petruzates threw a three-hitter and hit a home run to lead Cleveland (3-5, 3-5) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

Canyon 9, Quartz Hill 0--Erik Hiljus threw a two-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Canyon (7-3-1, 2-1) in a Golden League game at Quartz Hill.

Saugus 9, Antelope Valley 1--Kyle Lonsberry hit a bases-loaded double and a three-run home run and drove in five runs as host Saugus (6-4, 2-1) romped in a Golden League game.

Glendale 5, Muir 4 (8 inns.)--Rene Rangel (two hits) scored on a wild pitch to give Glendale a Pacific League game at Muir.

Calabasas 12, Mary Star 11--Calabasas (3-4) scored four runs in the sixth to win an L.A. Baptist tournament game.

SOFTBALL

Hart 15, Schurr 2--Hart’s Krissy Carpenter (6-2) threw a no-hitter and Heather Medearis hit a home run in a Foothill League game.

Thousand Oaks 3, Simi Valley 2--Lindy Donnelly’s fielder’s choice scored Dani Burns to give Thousand Oaks (5-4, 3-0) a 3-0 lead in a Marmonte League game.

Agoura 6, Channel Islands 4--Melissa Rickert, Rachel Clarke and Kim Bunch each had two hits for Agoura (6-3, 2-1).

Newbury Park 4, Royal 3--Shannon Swales tripled and scored in the sixth for the winning run in a Marmonte League game.
