Cervantes escaped the first inning without giving up a run. He struck out the side in the second and struck out at least one batter in all but one inning.

“I just had a lot of jitters,” Cervantes (9-4) said. “I am glad I got through it and settled down.”

Narbonne right fielder Mike Ramirez got three hits, including a double and a triple, scored two runs, stole a base and had a run batted in. He opened the game with a double, starting a two-run rally that gave Narbonne a lead it kept.

Franklin (22-10) stranded eight runners in a game that had four errors, eight walks, two wild pitches and a balk.
