Home’s Bombing Linked to Neighborhood Feud

Share

Police believe that a neighborhood feud led to Wednesday night’s firebombing of a home in Southeast Los Angeles and a suspicious fire there on Thursday.

Firefighters were first called out to a home in the 300 block of East 119th Street at 11:19 p.m. Wednesday when a small fire occurred at the residence, said Capt. John Lawrence of the Los Angeles Fire Department. That blaze was caused by a firebomb, said Police Sgt. Jerry Goodrich of the Southeast Station.

On Thursday about 4:40 a.m., firefighters again were called out for another fire at the same house. The blaze was apparently out when firefighters arrived. Lawrence said the second fire was being termed suspicious. The damage caused by both fires was believed to be minor, and no injuries have been reported.

Police had seized some weapons and arrested 13 people Tuesday night after shots were fired at a house in the neighborhood, Goodrich said.
