Robert Legendre, a freshman right-hander from Cypress College, has signed with the Dodgers, Charger Coach Scott Pickler said Thursday.

Legendre, from Western High School, agreed to a minor league contract Wednesday night. He was taken Monday in the 14th round of the amateur draft. Legendre, 19, will leave Saturday for a minor league camp in Vero Beach, Fla., for a few weeks. He then will be assigned to a minor league team.

Two other Cypress players were drafted. The Dodgers took freshman pitcher Todd Blyleven, son of Angel pitcher Bert Blyleven, and San Francisco took junior pitcher Noe Najera.

Blyleven, from Villa Park High School and a transfer from Oklahoma, was 6-4 with a 4.03 earned-run average. Najera was 3-1 with a 5.28 ERA. He also signed with North Carolina State.

Cal State Fullerton reliever Chris Robinson, the younger brother of Angels’ Jeff Robinson, signed Thursday as a free agent with the Angels. Robinson, a senior right-hander who went 3-4 with a 2.82 earned-run average, was not drafted. He will leave Sunday for Mesa, Ariz., for a one-week mini-camp and report to the team’s short-season, Class-A team in Boise, Ida.

Gar Vallone, a senior at El Dorado High School, was selected by the Dodgers in the free-agent draft, according to his father, Ed. Vallone, a shortstop, hit .396 last season for the Golden Hawks. Vallone signed to play at UCLA next year.

D.C. Olsen, a catcher from Fullerton High School, was taken in an undisclosed round by the Houston Astros.

The Major League Baseball Players Assn. charged that four clubs, including the Dodgers, released players during spring training to save money and filed a grievance against the teams.

The union charged that Fernando Valenzuela (Dodgers), Pete Incaviglia (Texas), Oddibe McDowell (Atlanta) and Mike Aldrete (Montreal) were let go for reasons not allowed in the uniform player’s contract. Under the uniform contract, a player can be released only for lack of skill, breach of contract or detrimental conduct.
