A First at Los Alamitos: Entry Runs 1-2-3 in Stake
Occasionally both parts of an entry will finish 1-2 in a race, but Thursday night this racing oddity went a step further when the three parts of a Vicky Desomer and Mickey DiFranco, Jr.-trained entry crossed the wire first, second and third in the $20,000 Final of the California Sire Stake for 2-year-old trotting fillies at Los Alamitos Race Track.
It was a first in Los Alamitos harness history. War At Home crossed the line first in 2:03 4/5, followed by Top Doll and Stock Holding. The entry paid $3.20 to win, $3.40 to place and $3 to show. The exacta from the entry to I’m A Ringer, the fourth-place finisher, paid $21.00.
