Emerson Fittipaldi improved his track qualifying record and held onto the pole position for today’s Cleveland Grand Prix.
Fittipaldi, who won the provisional pole Friday with a lap of 139.615 m.p.h., drove his Chevrolet-powered Penske racer around the course Saturday at 140.842 m.p.h.
