A three-member delegation of the World Boxing Council ended its tour of South Africa by calling for unity among the nation’s boxing groups. The WBC is the only international boxing organization that does not recognize South African fighters.
Eduardo Lamazon, WBC executive secretary, said the delegation would do its best to reflect the situation in South Africa and was “looking for doors to open,” but before that could happen, internal conflicts among the nation’s various boxing organizations had to end.
