Third baseman Jeff Hamilton, recovering from a torn ligament in his left knee, will run the bases today and could be headed for triple-A Albuquerque this weekend.

But with Lenny Harris and Mike Sharperson sharing duties at third base and Dave Hansen playing well off the bench, he might not rejoin the Dodgers until September.

“I’m not thinking that far ahead,” said Fred Claire, Dodger vice president. “We want to get him ready first.”

Mike Morgan, who gave up two unearned runs and was the losing pitcher to the Montreal Expos in Dennis Martinez’s perfect game Sunday gave up one run in a two-hitter and lost to Martinez, 1-0, on April 30.

The Dodgers passed the 2-million mark in attendance Monday in their 48th home date, the fastest pace since 1983. The Dodgers, who lead the NL in attendance, have drawn at least 2 million since 1973.
