“People love to play tennis after work, so when they find out about these courts I’m sure we’ll have a steady flow of players interested in using them,” said Hutchison, who has worked at the park nearly five years.

Anyone familiar with Sun Valley Recreation Center already knows about the successful youth baseball leagues it operates. For the past 14 years the park has dominated championship baseball play with neighboring Fernangeles Park, he said. In addition, the park has acted as a feeder system for nearby Poly High School, which has had a successful baseball team for many years.

Among its many programs, the park has recently added after-school day care for elementary school students from Holy Rosary, Arminta and Roscoe schools, as well as ballet and other dance classes.
