Valley Rangers Rout Anaheim in Tournament
Shaun Doyle went three for four to lead the Valley Rangers to a 13-0 victory over the Anaheim Phillies in a second-round game of the Orange County Baseball Assn. tournament that was stopped after five innings because of the mercy rule at Glover Field in Anaheim.
Ty Powell added three hits and J.P. Des Enfants and Joe Sturges each added two for the Rangers, who are 2-0 in the tournament.
Right-hander Larry DeWitt allowed two hits, struck out three and walked one to earn the victory.
