A 32-year-old man died a few hours after he was shot in front of his Logan Heights home, police said.
Police found Marcus Eldridge Cummings lying on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of Franklin Avenue at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday with several gunshot wounds in his head and torso. Paramedics took him to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he died early Wednesday, police said.
Witnesses told police that Cummings was arguing with two men outside his house when he was shot and crumpled to the ground. The men then shot Cummings several more times, police said.
The assailants drove away in a light-colored car and were last seen heading south on 31st Street from Franklin, police said.
