OUTLOOK

Barnes, in his 13th season, is the dean of the league’s coaches. Through most of that span, Barnes has kept the Griffins at or near the top of the league standings. Los Alamitos should be good again this year, and it looks as if the Griffins will be even better next season. Juniors Carey and Ruberio are dueling for the starting quarterback spot. Regardless of who wins the battle, Sagen and Griggs will be the quarterback’s top targets. The team’s strength is in its defense, where Garrido and Hauk are three-year starters.
