OUTLOOK

With few returning starters from a team that sneaked into the final playoff spot by winning its final league game, Corona del Mar likely will start slowly. Whether the Sea Kings peak for the league season and make the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season depends on how quickly the younger players mature. One advantage the team has is Kehrli, a Division I prospect who led the Sea Kings to a Division VI title as a sophomore in 1989. Kehrli, who was inconsistent as a junior before his season was ended when he cut his finger at a barbecue, has fully recovered. On defense, Pannier, who was among the county leaders in interceptions last season with five, is the only returning starter.
