PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Lund Runs, Passes Servite to Victory

LONG BEACH — Fullback Mike Lund rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns and threw a 52-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game Friday night as Servite surprised Long Beach Wilson for a 27-21 nonleague victory in front of 2,000.
Lund took the handoff from quarterback Josh Nelson on a fake reverse on the first play from scrimmage and threw to Steve Correa for the touchdown.
Wilson tied the score with five minutes to go in the first quarter on a two-yard run up the middle by Jim Hicks.
Lund ran six yards for another Friar touchdown with 1 minute 16 seconds left in the first quarter.
Nelson was just three for eight passing but averaged 37 yards per completion. With 5:26 to go in the third quarter, he hit wide receiver Julian Jones with a 33-yard touchdown pass to put Servite ahead, 21-7.
Although Wilson scored twice in the fourth quarter, on a two-yard run and a 64-yard catch by Jim Hicks, Servite clinched the victory on an eight-yard run by Lund with 5:31 left.
Wilson quarterback Brady Dunn finished with 209 yards passing and one interception.
