Santa Ynez 21, Santa Clara 14--Junior tailback Jeremy Spry gained 214 yards in 17 carries and scored three touchdowns for host Santa Ynez (2-0).
The last touchdown--a 27-yard run--broke a 14-14 tie with a minute to play. Spry’s run capped an 11-play, 83-yard drive. Spry also had touchdown runs of 71 and three yards.
With the scored tied, 7-7, in the third quarter, Allen Lisle recovered a fumble on the Santa Ynez five-yard line and, two plays later, Santa Clara quarterback Chris Macias ran six yards for a touchdown.
