Burbank 39, Bell-Jeff 0--Running back Hector Valencia scored on runs of 16 and 61 yards, and defensive back Miguel Cerna returned a pass interception 40 yards for a score as the Bulldogs (2-0) rolled to an easy victory at Burroughs High.
Burbank set up its first score by surprising Bell-Jeff (0-2) with an onside kick on the opening kickoff. Jeff Lamoureaux recovered the ball at the Guards’ 30-yard line.
The Bulldogs were penalized back to the Bell-Jeff 47 on the play but scored eight plays later on a five-yard run by running back Frank Brenes.
