Murphy 6, Village Christian 0--Crusader quarterback David Treanor was sacked on Murphy’s eight-yard line on a fourth-and-goal play with 32 seconds left, helping Murphy preserve a victory at Kennedy.
The Crusaders (1-2) started their final drive at Murphy’s 46 with 2:17 remaining. Two first downs and a pass interference penalty quickly moved the ball to the Murphy seven-yard line. Two runs by Chad Everett moved the Crusaders to the three, but Village Christian could get no closer. When Treanor scrambled to the right, he was blindsided by Ben Stephens.
