Poway’s Kyle Milling, a 6-foot-7 senior center, has committed to play basketball at UC Santa Barbara. Milling, the 1991 3-A Player of the Year, averaged 15.5 points and 11 rebounds a game for the Titans.

According to Poway Coach Doug Wealch, Milling had considered Colorado, Notre Dame and Northwestern, but had narrowed his choices to UC Santa Barbara and UCLA.

Jason (Turtle) Brown scored four goals in 11th-ranked UC San Diego’s 20-5 nonconference victory against Chaminade to become the Tritons’ all-time career scoring leader.

With 215 goals, Brown, a senior All-American, overtook the record of 211 set by Tom Moore from 1982-86.

Mike Nalu scored four goals and Andy Steinheimer and Gary Seelhorst added three each to help UCSD improve to 13-9.
