Oxnard 41, Hueneme 10--Lloyd Mix made his season debut something to remember as he rushed for 211 yards in 18 carries and three touchdowns to lead the host Yellowjackets. Mix, a junior who transferred from Santa Clara High and did not become eligible until this week, scored on runs of two, 60 and 68 yards as the Yellowjackets rang up a 27-10 halftime lead.

Hueneme marched 89 yards on the game’s opening drive to take a 7-0 lead on an eight-yard pass from David Andrade to Chris Zapata. Wendell Nunnery, a sophomore playing his first varsity game, rambled for 50 yards in 11 carries on the first possession to set up Zapata’s score. Nunnery finished with 76 yards in 19 carries.
