A pizza parlor was destroyed in a two-alarm blaze early Tuesday but the fire was kept from spreading to surrounding businesses in a strip mall at the corner of Orangethorpe Avenue and Imperial Highway.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which erupted about 12:30 a.m. at Black Tie Pizza, said city fire investigator Mike Feeney. The fire caused about $110,000 in damage to the structure and $40,000 to contents, he said.
Feeney said that although the pizza parlor was gutted, fire walls kept the blaze from spreading to adjacent businesses. The blaze was under control by 12:42 a.m. and put out a short time later. The cause is under investigation.
