Fairfax High continued its dominance in the City Coastal Conference Friday with a 15-12 victory over Palisades at Fairfax.

With the victory, the Lions clinched the conference title. They have won 14 consecutive conference games and 19 of their last 21.

Fairfax, ranked No. 8 in The Times’ poll, improved to 6-0 in the conference and 7-1 overall. It will be one of the top seeded teams in the playoffs, which begin in two weeks.

Friday’s victory proved costly, however, as senior quarterback Rahim Muhammad suffered a broken collarbone in the second quarter and will be lost for the season.

Muhammad, a returning all-City player, rushed and passed for more than 1,200 yards this season. He was replaced by his younger brother, junior Hasan Muhammad.

Hasan completed two of five passes for 48 yards. Before going down, Rahim rushed for 102 yards in 17 carries and scored on a 12-yard run. Charles Gillum, who had two interceptions, sacked Palisades quarterback Rod Cochran on the final play of the game with the Dolphins on the Fairfax nine.
