New Mexico St. Plays Host to 49ers
With its first victory of the season in the book, New Mexico State will play Cal State Long Beach in a Big West Conference game today at 12:30 p.m. at Las Cruces, N.M.
The Aggies, 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference, defeated Cal State Fullerton, 35-12, last week. It was their first Big West road victory since joining the conference in 1984.
CS Long Beach (2-7, 2-3) has never lost to New Mexico State and has averaged 37 points a game against the Aggies in the seven previous meetings. However, this season, the 49ers have averaged 13.5 points and given up 38.6.
New Mexico State has done slightly better. The Aggies are averaging 18.4 points but have allowed an average of 30.
