Demondre White scored twice to help Fullerton College defeat Rancho Santiago, 34-7, in a Mission Conference Central Division game at Santa Ana Stadium.

White scored on a one-yard run with 9:29 left in the first quarter and a two-yard run with 7:21 remaining in the third. He gained 98 of Fullerton’s 205 yards rushing.

The victory keeps Fullerton (7-2, 3-1) in the race for the division title and a possible bowl bid if it defeats Riverside next week.

Said Fullerton Coach Hal Sherbeck: “Our defense played good, and our backs covered well, but we had some big plays called back and problems with our wide receivers not lining up,” he said.

The Hornets held Rancho Santiago (2-7, 1-3) to minus-12 yards rushing in the first half (17 for the game) and scoreless until the final 4:50 of the third quarter, when Kendrick Isles scored from the two.

“Their defense played well. We didn’t do anything offensively in the first half. We weren’t running and we couldn’t throw,” said Rancho Santiago Coach Dave Olgas.
