1 Killed, 1 Hurt in 2 Shootings

A 29-year-old man was shot three times in the back Saturday and left dying in an alleyway.

Police said officers found Ysidrio Orozco Baza lying face down Saturday about 6 a.m. in an alley behind the 200 block of East Valencia Mesa Drive.

Paramedics rushed Baza to Anaheim Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Witnesses told investigators that Baza had been seen drinking beer with three or four other people before he was shot. Investigators are now trying to locate Baza’s drinking companions and any witnesses to the shooting.

In another shooting incident in the same area, an unidentified man was shot in the chest about 2 a.m. during a traffic dispute at the intersection of Euclid Street and Valencia Mesa Drive.

The man, who was a passenger, got out of one car to argue with the driver of the other vehicle. During the argument, a passenger in the car pulled out a gun and shot the victim. He was taken to a local hospital, where was he was treated and released, police said.
