MOORPARK : Fire Burns 60 Acres; Trees Destroyed
An early-morning brush fire swept over a hillside north of Moorpark on Sunday, scarring 60 acres before it was contained shortly before 8:30 a.m., authorities said.
The fire--which broke out about 4:45 a.m. near Happy Camp Road--posed no threat to houses or other buildings, Ventura County Fire Department officials said. But it destroyed a row of avocado trees on a ranch in the area, officials said.
Fire investigators said they did not know what caused the blaze. There were no injuries in the incident, they said.
