Saddleback, Fullerton Receive Bids for Dec. 7 Bowl Games

The football seasons of Saddleback and Fullerton were kept alive Sunday when bids for the Dec. 7 bowl games were extended.
Saddleback (9-1) will play Cerritos (8-2) in the Simple Green Orange County Bowl at Orange Coast College at 7 p.m.
Fullerton (7-3) travels north to play Santa Barbara (9-1) in the Shrine Potato Bowl at 1 p.m. in Bakersfield.
It will be the third time Cerritos and Saddleback have met in a bowl game. Cerritos beat Saddleback, 34-7, in the 1983 PONY Bowl. Saddleback defeated the Falcons, 21-14, in the 1987 PONY Bowl.
There still is a chance the Simple Green Orange County Bowl will expand to a doubleheader, but, as of Sunday, no second game had been set.
Fullerton will be making its fourth appearance in the Shine Potato Bowl. Fullerton last played in the game in 1988. The Hornets lost to Bakersfield, 30-24, in a game that decided the national championship.
It will the first meeting of the teams.
