Tiger Woods of Cypress continued his remarkable string of success in junior golf by winning the Rolex Junior Classic Sunday at La Paloma Country Club in Tucson.

Woods, 15 and a sophomore at Western High School, defeated Dru Fenimore of Fort Worth, 5 and 4, to win the overall boys’ title. He was at seven-under par for 14 holes. The course record for 18 holes is eight under.

“I love match play,” Woods said. “It’s just me and my opponent. I don’t have to worry about the rest of the field.”

It was the fourth American Junior Golf Assn. title of the year for Woods, the 1991 Rolex Junior Player of the Year. He also won the USGA Junior Amateur and the Optimist Junior World championships.

Scott Gibson, a senior at Huntington Beach High, finished second in the boys’ 17-18 division. Steven Wells of Laveen, Ariz., defeated Gibson 4-and-2 in the final match.
