JC FOOTBALL BOWL GAMES : Saddleback Wins With Chrishon

Marcellus Chrishon gained a Orange County Bowl-record 207 yards and scored four touchdowns Saturday night as Saddleback defeated Cerritos, 42-18, at Orange Coast College.

It was the eighth consecutive victory for Saddleback (10-1), ranked sixth in the nation by J.C. Grid-Wire, and the first loss in the last eight games for No. 12 Cerritos (8-3).

Chrishon, a freshman who gained more than 1,000 yards for Mission Viejo High last season, carried 30 times in breaking the Orange County Bowl record of 193 yards set in 1989 by Rancho Santiago’s Estrus Crayton.

Cerritos running back Darrell Thompson gained 134 yards in 20 carries.

Fullerton 45, Santa Barbara 13--Quarterback David Pierson completed 14 of 20 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns and also set up a touchdown with a 32-yard scramble to lead the Hornets in the Shrine Potato Bowl at Bakersfield.

Brian Williams gained 132 yards in 18 carries and scored on an 85-yard run in the second quarter for Fullerton. Mike Carter rushed for 22 yards and two touchdowns and had a team-high six receptions for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

Southwest Los Angeles 28, Antelope Valley 0--Takim Brown gained 126 yards in 20 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Cougars in the Southern California Bowl at Antelope Valley.

Santa Monica 32, San Bernardino 31--In the Western State Conference Bowl I, Santa Monica overcame a 31-18 deficit and tied the score, 31-31, when Mario Mattison recovered a bad punt snap in the end zone with 6:34 left. Shannon Estrin kicked the extra point to give the Corsairs the victory at Santa Monica.

Moorpark 35, Pierce 16--Quarterback Corey Tucker completed six of 11 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns and the Raiders rushed for 231 yards in the Western State Conference Bowl II victory at Moorpark College.
