PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Vlasic to Get Start for Chiefs
With the season winding down, several teams are making changes at quarterback:
Mark Vlasic, who has started only three games in his four-year career, will replace 15-year veteran Steve DeBerg at quarterback when the playoff-bound Kansas City Chiefs meet San Francisco Saturday, Coach Marty Schottenheimer said Wednesday.
Seahawk Coach Chuck Knox, whose own future in Seattle may be in jeopardy, announced that he will start little-used Kelly Stouffer in place of Dave Krieg when the Seahawks play at Atlanta.
The Phoenix Cardinals named Chris Chandler as starter for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. Tom Tupa, the starter for most of the season before being demoted, moved up to No. 2 and three-game starter Stan Gelbaugh fell to No. 3.
