OUTLOOK

Henderson begins his second season with the league’s tallest, and perhaps slowest, team. Brown, Hubbard, Hess and Savala are four of the taller players in the league, but only Hubbard returns with significant experience. But don’t expect the Wildcats to break any 100-meter sprint records. “I’m real positive about this team,” Henderson said. “We have some scrappy kids and some height mixed in for good measure.” The Wildcats also have some outside shooting. Brea-Olinda lost its leading scorer from last season--Doug Yeo, who averaged 16 points--to graduation. But the Wildcats have found another scorer in Hole, who was promoted from the junior varsity this season. “Scott’s a very good outside shooter,” said Henderson, adding that he expects the Wildcats “to be pushing for the top spot.” He said: “We have better athletes now than last year. We can do more things individually--we can take people to the basket instead of just standing there holding the ball in our hands.”
